The free trial
Your first 2 exports are free with every feature on. You do not need an account or a payment card to try it. Trial MP4 exports carry a small getcastcut.com mark.
Refunds and cancelling
Every plan has a 14-day refund, no questions. You can cancel anytime from the Polar customer portal; a canceled plan keeps working until the end of the time you paid for. And if your first episode does not cut right, email support@getcastcut.com and I will help you fix it, or refund you in full.
Licenses
One license works on two Macs. CastCut checks the license about once a day when you are online. Without a connection it keeps working for 7 days on Weekly, 14 days on Monthly and 90 days on Annual. The founding lifetime license sold out in October 2026, and no lifetime plan is on sale now.
Is it worth it?
A freelance editor charges about $100 to $500 to cut one video podcast episode. On the monthly plan, a weekly show costs about $3.23 an episode. See how other tools compare on the comparison page.
What you need
An Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer) with macOS 14 or later. Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve are optional: CastCut can make the finished videos itself, and the free version of DaVinci Resolve works too. There is no Windows or Intel Mac version.
